Cork journey in Asia

From the factory to the court

Tuga is what the Portuguese call themselves. TugaSports started in Singapore with a Portuguese founder and one idea: bring exceptional padel to Asia.

The founder

Nuno Pereira

Nuno runs TugaSports from Singapore. He plays, coaches beginners and kids, and is on court at most of our events, from prize-givings in Kuala Lumpur to corporate days in Singapore.

Cork Padel

Made in Portugal, from cork

In June 2025 we visited the Cork Padel factory in Portugal to see how the rackets we bring to Asia are made.

Shaped

Each racket face is drilled and finished by machine at the factory.

Drying racks full of racket frames

Cured

Frames rest on drying racks before they move to finishing.

Finished

The cork surface is engraved and checked before it ships.

Played in Asia

And then, on court

The same rackets at tournaments, corporate days and community events in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
